Hi there!

I am a millennial Finnish girl who loves traveling but has also career ambitions. My mission is to show that taking a longer break from the conventional working life and dedicating oneself to traveling provides such an exceptional learning opportunity that it can actually help you build a career instead of slowing it down. By sharing my story, I want to encourage everyone to follow their dreams no matter how scary they might feel.

After 4,5 half years of ascending career in the banking sector I decided to take a leap of faith and resign from my full-time office job in order to pursue my dreams of traveling, learning and volunteering. However, packing my bags and traveling solo does not mean I am giving up on my career – quite the opposite – I am leaving in order to build new skills and to discover what I would like the next conquer on my career to be. Backpacking does not equal vacation and I am sure after this adventure, I will have learned a lot more than I would have staying on the safe track of full-time employment.

It is yet undefined for how long my chapter of nomad life will last and what exactly it will include. However, I am sure it won’t be much of glory and luxury hotels but instead learning from others by sharing accommodation or cooking an international dinner together. I am not sure where the journey will take me but I have a feeling it will be the right place at that moment.

My blog is both a learning diary for myself and a source of encouragement for everyone who has dreams which require jumping into the unknown without knowing if their wings will be strong enough to carry them.
